That calling led him to the home care field and ultimately to open a 2nd Family location in the greater Milwaukee community. Inspired by 2nd Family’s commitment to dignity, trust, and personalized care, Stan is bringing that mission to the Milwaukee area—using his professional experience to help older adults and their families receive reliable, relationship-based care that allows them to live safely and confidently at home. His professional motivation was also strengthened by personal experience.

Our Story Inspired by Our Parents
As Stan, our founder’, parent Oscar and Mildred entered their 80s, he saw firsthand how difficult it can be to find home support that truly honors a person’s desire to remain independent, comfortable, and in control of daily routines. Too often, the available care felt transactional rather than personal, making it harder for them to accept help. Their experience showed Stan how essential trust, dignity, and genuine relationships are in caregiving—and ultimately helped inspire him to bring 2nd Family to Milwaukee.
That conviction was further reinforced by the experience of his wife’s mother, Ruby, who has deeply felt the loss of her husband, Werdell, to COVID. While surrounded by loving family and friends, she still feels the weight of loneliness and would benefit from dependable, compatible companionship during the day. Seeing her experience strengthened Stan’s belief in compassionate, trustworthy care that brings comfort, connection, and respect to those aging at home.
