2nd Family of Katy, TX was founded by Brendan and Meagan out of a deeply personal understanding of what families face when care is needed suddenly, urgently, and from far away. In 2021, while Meagan was undergoing treatment for breast cancer and we were raising our young children, Brendan’s mother suffered a major stroke in Trinidad and Tobago. We know what it feels like to be stretched between the needs of a spouse, children, and an aging parent in crisis. That experience shaped the heart of 2nd Family: to provide compassionate, dependable caregivers who step in with the same care, urgency, and trust we would want for our own loved ones.

Our Story Near or Far, Family is Our Foundation
Our story began during one of the most difficult seasons of our lives. Like so many families during the pandemic, we were separated from loved ones, especially Brendan’s family in Trinidad and Tobago. At the same time, Meagan was in treatment for breast cancer, our children were young, and travel was impossible. Then Brendan’s mother suffered a major stroke, leaving us to navigate hospitalizations, treatment decisions, and reliable care from thousands of miles away. We lived the stress of the “sandwich generation” in its most extreme form, and we founded 2nd Family so no family has to face those overwhelming moments without trusted support and peace of mind.
